Making props, corpsing skellies, trying out new ideas, learning how to use power tools (!). I have other, boring hobbies as well. I cook and bake, really well, and love to garden. I love planning Halloween, which I share with my husband. While I have never done anything I considered scary, my loved one is scary in how humorous he wants it to be. So from year to year, people can tell who created the theme for the year. For 09 I'm planning something along the lines of a haunted field - like that's not been done before and better than I can manage - and my daughter wants a deadly dance and buffet for the porch. We'll see.

Haunted Mansion, Corpse Bride. Don't watch scary movies as a general rule. Must be why I rarely have any original ideas.

Halloween, costumes, ToTs, creating a haunt, designing themes, being the biggest haunt in town! Candlelight, jazz, a glass of wine a good book, and kids that are asleep, in their beds, at a decent hour! Yeah, that's what I long for...But really, I do love Halloween. There's more info at www.myspace.com/booksnjazz.

ARGH! Kids without costumes; kids too old to be ToTs, altho I know a lot of people don't have that same hangup. People who lecture you on the inherent evilness of Halloween. People in the halloween stores who wander aimlessly and get in my way, dammit. Here's one: hearing "mommy, mommy, mommy" all day long. I'm changing my name.
My last dislike is my husband being deployed.

Librarian by trade, haunter by heart, SAHM of two kids in reality with a USNG husband regularly being deployed to the Middle East. I've always loved Halloween and finally, 7 years ago, gave in to the bug. Every year the yard becomes more elaborate and now I can choose what to use and not use depending on my theme. We've done pirates, a haunted plantation with a demon infested pumpkin patch, cemetary, voodoo room & nursery and last year, UFO's.
